Here’s where I’ll through various travel-related websites that have been helpful to me either in the inspiration or planning department.
Travelogues:
Hedgehogs Without Border: I love this website! The writing and pictures are top-notch. Their trip is over now, but reading through the old entries is still lots of fun.
Me Go: Another favorite of mine, this website describes two trips taken in 2004 and then 2006-2007 around China, Central and Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, and Africa by a female traveling solo. Very inspirational with nice pictures, and lots of helpful information on budgeting, maps, and travel destinations.
Everything Everywhere: This is a frequently updated website by a guy traveling alone to lots of different places. The pictures are pretty good and it’s nice as he’s currently on the road. Also, I’ve gleaned a lot of helpful information about ways to make money while on the road from this website.
Us Vs the World: Describes the travel adventures of Brooke and Brian as they make their way around the world unconventionally.
Traveler’s Information:
Bootsnall: This sets the standard for traveler internet forums, in my opinion. Very helpful and friendly group of people along with lots of information about hostels, planning a RTW trip, destination, etc. Also, friendly for aspiring travel writers.
Lonely Planet: Their “Thorntree” forum is perhaps the best way to get LOTS of advice on detailed questions about unusual destinations.
Candy Blogs:
Candy Blog: I love this blog! Lots of candy reviews, descriptions, etc, but by someone who is much better at writing about food than me. Also many excellent pictures.
Malena loves candy. And travel. And both together. And thus, this site was born.
