I pass through a lot of small towns. Normally, when I’m there, it goes something like this: I bike in, bike around, look around, maybe make some small talk, and bike out the next day. In General Alvear, things were a little different. For one, everyone in this tiny town was super friendly, from the kids to the store owners to the people waiting in the restaurant. For another, I guess there wasn’t much going on because the local news station decided to interview me!
In other words, I got to be on TV! It was pretty exciting, I won’t lie. It was just a short segment where they asked some questions about my trip, how I liked the town, how long I would be staying… Really a nice surprise and a fun little story for my trip.

Malena, I like your new style of frequent posts. Its easier to “follow along”.
That photo with the video camera got me thinking. Your digital camera probably has video capability, but if not you should get a cheap one and try doing some “video diary” posts. Video tape your blog entry with some interesting backdrop, upload it to YouTube, and embed it on your web site.
Maybe video tape yourself trying some candy for the first time. My 2 cents.

Cool. How did they know about you?
Did you ask them for an up to the minute weather update while you were there?

That’s funny.
Do they interview all their visitors.

Very cool, your mother and I were happy to see how well you looked (aside from the orange arms thing.
Your Spanish must be improving daily, getting interviewed on Television is a sort of acid test.

Malena,
I traveled to Argentina years ago to visit my parents who were living on a cattle ranch. I had a wonderful time. I’m excited to follow your trip. Sounds like an amazing adventure, especially since your traveling by bike. What a great way to meet the locals. Good luck!
Malena loves candy. And travel. And both together. And thus, this site was born.

What a nice shirt you are wearing in the picture. Probably just something picked up after a day of pyramid crawling, ehh?
Very exciting, your mother and I are pleased to see you getting a little air time.
